Josip Stanisic, who is on loan at Bayer Leverkusen from Bayern Munich until the end of the season, has left his future open.

The Croatian defender has established himself as a regular starter for Leverkusen in 2024, but Die Werkself have no option to buy him, meaning he will return to Bayern when his loan spell ends as things stand.

At this stage, however, Stanisic says he can't say where he'll be playing next season.

"I haven't thought about it at all. The season is still long, we're still in all three competitions, that's the focus. Then comes the Euro," said Stanisic, according to Bild.

"What happens after that remains to be seen. Of course the situation is such that I have to go back. But in football you never know. It is a very fast-moving business. One day I'm there, the next I'm gone. We'll see."
