Rexhbecaj out for the rest of the season
Elvis Rexhbecaj has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
FC Augsburg will be without Elvis Rexhbecaj for the rest of the season.
The 26-year-old suffered a broken metatarsal in his right foot in Augsburg's 1-1 draw with FC Köln.
"This is a bitter diagnosis for Elvis and our team. We keep our fingers crossed for him for the upcoming surgery and rehab. Elvis is a fighter, who doesn't get discouraged. We are convinced that he will be back on the pitch for the new season," said Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic.
Rexhbecaj, who has made 26 appearances for Augsburg this season, commented:
"In the last few years I was almost always fit and was able to play a lot of games. So the injury is very annoying, especially since an operation is necessary. But I am looking forward with confidence and I am sure that I will come back stronger after the rehab. I wish the boys all the best for the end of the season."
