Reus, 29, extend his contract until 2023 last year, and Watzke is confident that the BVB captain will stay until he hangs up his boots.
"That's neither a wish nor a dream, but something that's bound to happen," Watzke told Eurosport when asked about the chances of Reus staying until the end of his career.
"He's the captain of his team. Borussia Dortmund is more than an employer to him. He's a Dortmund boy, and you can tell it's his club."
"It's also clear that we can integrate him in any way at BVB after his career if he wants that," Watzke said.
Reus played for Borussia Dortmund as a youth player, but was released by the club and then joined Rot Weiss Ahlen in 2006.
The German international was signed by Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2009 and played there until he returned to Dortmund in 2012.
Since then, Reus has made 235 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 115 goals.
