'Pulisic is the best American player I've ever seen'

Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic is already the best American player ever according to former U.S. international Eddie Johnson.
At the age of just 19, Christian Pulisic is already the best American player ever, former U.S. international Eddie Johnson tells the Seattle Sounders' 'Winging It with Zakuani' podcast.

Johnson, who is now a coach, recently got the chance to train with Pulisic in the United States, and in his opinion the young Borussia Dortmund player is already a better player than American legends such as Claudio Reyna, Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey ever were.

"He's the best American player that I've ever seen since I started playing soccer as a kid in the USA," Johnson said and added:

"Having played with Claudio Reyna, having played Landon Donovan, having played with Clint Dempsey - where he's at now, with his experience and how he sees the game and how he understands the game, he's miles and miles ahead of everyone else."

It was Pulisic, who reached out to Johnson on Instagram and asked if he wanted to train with him, and the former American international was really impressed with what he saw.

"He's unbelievable. So tidy in his ability to receive and turn, create space and lay balls off. His movement with and without the ball in tight spaces, it's unbelievable. This kid's ability to create half a yard, find the back post, near post. His first touch is everything. His first touch always sets him up for his next touch. The kid's just so relaxed. Good composure, good in tight spaces. it was just a real joy and honor," Johnson said.

Pulisic has made 97 appearances for Borussia Dortmund with 12 goals and 20 assists to his name.
