Christian Pulisic was on fire when Borussia Dortmund defeated Liverpool 3-1 at the International Champions Cup in Charlotte, USA, yesterday.

Liverpool were ahead 1-0 at half-time, but the American teenage sensation was sent on the pitch after the break and scored two goals to turn the game around in Dortmund's favor.

After his sublime display, Pulisic surely deserved to receive the Man of the Match award, but there was just one problem - he was too young.

Sunday's award was sponsored by Dutch brewing company Heineken, and the 19-year-old Pulisic wasn't allowed to receive it, because the legal drinking age in the United States is 21.

Therefore, the award was instead handed to Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, 27, who scored the first-half goal.
