Ethan Ampadu plans Chelsea return

Ethan Ampadu says he intends to return to Chelsea when his loan deal with RB Leipzig expires in the summer.
Ethan Ampadu is keen on returning to Chelsea once his loan spell at RB Leipzig is over at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old says he's keeping a close eye on his parent club and doesn't have any players of staying in Germany beyond the summer.

"I am always watching Chelsea and seeing what is going on. It is good to see the young players are shining at the moment. They are in the top four so fingers crossed they can hold on to that," Ampadu said, according The Evening Standard.

"I would like to go back, I aim to, but right now I am focused on Leipzig and finishing the season," he added.

Ampadu has mostly been used as a substitute this season and was happy to be given a rare start in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Tottenham in the Champions League.

"I have not played as much as I would have liked to, but I am definitely learning in training and working hard," he said and continued:

"When this situation came of starting, I knew it was a good opportunity to show what I can do and I'd like to think I've done that. I just tried to play my game. I try to be composed and just try to play."
