Ranking the best German players abroad in 2018

Kicker has ranked the best German players who are playing abroad.

Every six months Kicker releases a ranking of the best players in the Bundesliga as well as the best German players abroad, dividing them into four categories: 'World Class', 'International Class', 'In the Wider Circle' and 'Field of Vision'.


Recently, the German sports magazine has named and ranked the best German players abroad (who are playing in England, Spain, Italy and France) in the first half of 2018.

According to Kicker, FC Barcelona keeper Marc-André ter Stegen is the only player worthy of being in the 'World Class' category.

Here are the rankings:


World Class:

International Class:
Toni Kroos, Real Madrid
Sami Khedira, Juventus
Leroy Sané, Manchester City

In the Wider Circle:
Antonio Rüdiger, Chelsea
Christopher Schindler, Huddersfield Town
Ilkay Gündogan, Manchester City
Emre Can, Liverpool (now Juventus)
Pascal Gross, Brighton & Hove Albion

Field of Vision:
Loris Karius, Liverpool
Julian Draxler, Paris Saint-Germain
Mesut Özil, Arsenal
