Thomas Meunier has played down rumors claiming that it's only a matter of time before he will put pen to paper on a deal with Borussia Dortmund.

The Belgian international is out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but underlines that he still hopes to stay in the French capital.

"I don't understand everything about me on social media in relation to Dortmund. I've seen so many articles linking me with Tottenham or Inter as well. I don't understand this craze. My main goal is still to stay in Paris, but it has been pretty quiet until now," Meunier told RTBF.

At same time, however, the full-back says he can see why clubs would be interested in signing him.

"A free international player, who plays for the world's number one team in FIFA's rankings and who is 28 years old can't be a bad signing, not even if I get gangrene or must have a leg cut off. Clubs don't have much to lose in terms of investment, and I think they know that. They have everything to gain," he said.
