Simon Rolfes believes it's 'logical' that Kai Havertz will eventually leave Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen boss Simon Rolfes has commented on the future of Kai Havertz.

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes claims he's not surprised by recent statements from Kai Havertz, who has told Sport Bild that he feels 'ready to take a big step' and that he could see himself playing abroad.

"It's a logical development that Kai will leave Leverkusen at some point," Rolfes told Bild and continued:

"I'm not surprised that he's attracted to other countries. We know he feels very comfortable here. We are in constant communication with Kai - it's all very open and transparent."

Havertz's contract with Leverkusen runs until 2022. He has been linked with the likes of Bayern München, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
