Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow has attracted concrete interest from Benfica and Ajax, according to Kicker.

The German football magazine claims that the 27-year-old has a release clause of around €8 million in his contract, which expires in 2022.

Schwolow is said to be prepared to leave Freiburg for a club playing European football every season.

Benfica and Ajax fit the bill in that regard and are both looking for a new goalkeeper with their respective first-choice options, Odysseas Vlachodimos and André Onana, currently considering taking the next step in their careers.

Schalke are understood to have inquired about Schwolow as well, but will not be able to afford him, as per Kicker.
