Ajax are preparing an offer of around €8-9 million for Werder Bremen midfielder Davy Klaassen, according to Bild.

However, it would take a double-digit million euro sum to persuade Werder to sell the Dutch midfielder, who is keen on a move to Amsterdam, as per the report.

"You have to think things through carefully, and that's what Davy will do. But nothing is decided yet," commented Klaassen's agent, Søren Lerby.

Klaassen, 27, came through the youth ranks at Ajax and went on to make 180 appearances for the Dutch club with 55 goals and 38 assists to his name before Everton paid €27 million to sign him in 2017.

After just one season at the English Premier League club, he completed a €13.5 million move to Werder in 2018.
