SV Werder Bremen confirm that the loan deal to send midfielder Johannes Eggestein to Austrian club LASK Linz has been successfully concluded. The 22-year-old parts company with older brother and Hanseaten starter Maximiliam Eggestein for at least one year.

"The opportunity has arisen for Johannes to make this step with Linz," SV managing director Frank Baumann commented, "We expect that he will get more playing time there."

Bremen trainer Florian Kohfeldt also commented on the move, noting "Johannes has to play more and at Linz he can do this on an international level. In seven or eight months he will be back at Bremen and we hope that his development over there will lead to him becoming a first-team regular here."

Eggestein expressed optimism. "My goal now is to develop along with the rest of the lads," he noted.
