Gnabry released from quarantine, available vs. Lokomotiv Moscow

FC Bayern München released a statement on Sunday announcing that forward Serge Gnabry had been released from quarantine "with immediate effect".

There were already stirrings on Saturday that one of the FCB's most potent weapons may not have been infected with the coronavirus after all. After another negative antigen test on Sunday morning, Munich health authorities agreed to allow the German giants to release Gnabry from quarantine.

Local regulations allow for such a reversal when a "false positive" can be presumed. The club did not hesitate. Five days after isolating their player, the club restored his full availability status.

A statement from Bayern indicated that Gnabry will travel with the team to Moscow for Tuesday's game against Lokomotiv. Trainer Hans Dieter Flick may tap him for duty if he so desires.
