Kevin Trapp, Eintracht Frankfurt (Goalkeeper, 8m)
The Eintracht net-minder is a good bet to earn his first clean sheet of the season. He daces an SV Werder Bremen side facing a whole myriad of issues in attack. Bremen trainer Florian Kohfeldt lost his leading goal-scorer this week when it was revealed that Niclas Füllkrug's calf injury may keep him out for a month. Striker Davie Selke has also been ruled out and Yuya Osako may not make it back in time to serve in the starting XI. Frankfurt's offensive engine may gift Trapp an early lead and an easy day.
Jerome Rousillion, VfL Wolfsburg (Defender, 10m)
Those with the budget should definitely pencil in Raphaël Guerreiro (35m) at left back. The Portuguese international will again garner an assist or two from his new rearward-tucked position. The 27-year-old Frenchman remains a fantastic shoestring option for those seeking a player on the uptick. Rousillion's form has steadily improved in each match thus far this season and his forward prowess matches up well against the unsteady Hertha BSC right.
Amos Pieper, Arminia Bielefeld (Defender, 2.5m)
The 22-year-old's form has slipped a bit since a very strong first-round performance and a team-of-the-week worthy match in the second round. He's nevertheless a good bet to see a lot of action in this weekend's fixture against Dortmund. Should Uwe Neuhaus opt to deploy a "diamond-box" 4-5-1 against the BVB here, both team and player might be capable of pulling off a surprise.
Edmond Tapsoba, Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Defender, 22m)
The 21-year-old Burkinabé certainly isn't cheap, but he's well poised to have another monster match against SC Freiburg. A recent injury to Lars Bender may force Leverkusen trainer Peter Bosz to deploy a back-three against the Schwarzwaldverein. As it so happens, this was an arrangement under which Tapsoba thrived last season, particularly when partnered on a flat axis with Sven Bender and Aleksandr Dragovic. The center-back should make his second consecutive team-of-the-week.
Jeremiah St. Juste, FSV Mainz 05 (Defender, 7m)
Filling in at right-back for the departed Ridle Baku hasn't been the easiest task for the 24-year-old Dutchman. Those are definitely some large boots to fill. Signs that he is getting the hang of the new deployment are nevertheless emerging. The former Feyenoord man scored at this stage last season and has exhibited rising form in this one. He might do well against Iago on the Augsburg left.
Julian Baumgartlinger, Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Midfielder, 2m)
Most of die Werkself's forward traffic will run through the 32-year-old Austrian. Since Charles Arnaguiz succumbed to injury, the anchoring midfielder and slotted into the Chilean's role with ease and exerted a calming presence of Peter Bosz's possession game. He might prove even more crucial if, as predicted above, the Leverkusen trainer reverts to a back-three.
Kevin Kampl, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 14m)
Julian Nagelsmann's management of his squad through a hard luck slew of injuries has led to some interesting midfield set-ups. Needing to answer for the club's worst defeat in its eleven-year-history, the young coach will be seeking to make a strong statement against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. Given that he'll likely have to deploy a tenuous back-three, his strongest possible midfield pairing shall be essential. Kevin Kampl and returning captain Marcel Sabitzer should start alongside one another all will also very likely supply some fireworks.
Bos Dost, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 5.5m)
On the topic of a team needed to make a big statement, Adi Hütter's men look to bounce back from the 0-5 drubbing last weekend at Frankfurt. The Dost-André Silva striking tandem has made such tremendous progress, with the two combining for five league goals thus far this season. Dost scored perhaps the best workmanlike goal of the season in round three. It's not terribly difficult to envision one of these strikers netting at least a brace against Werder. This being a column that strives to recommend budget-buys, we'll advise taking the Dutchman.
Sasa Kalajdzic, VfB Stuttgart (Striker, 2m)
When in doubt, go with the attacker facing Schalke. While last week didn't exactly work out as hoped, he remains a good endorsement him for the second week in a row. The 23-year-old Austrian star of the Stuttgart attack has cooled off a bit since tallying in the campaign's first three fixtures. Conditions should be conducive to him getting back on track here.
Taiwo Awoniyi, 1. FC Union Berlin (Striker, 3.2m)
Joel Pohjanpalo has looked far from convincing in his last two starts atop the Union Berlin attack. It thus seems likely that trainer Urs Fischer will look to shake things up a bit by giving the player he used to replace him later in both matches another go. Awoniyi can spearhead the attack with a bit more pace and couples better with a surging Sheraldo Becker. Die Eisernen look to snatch some points from an inconsistent Hoffenheim side on Monday evening.
