The S04 announcement, published on the club's website did note that the affected professional tested negative as recently as Thursday. According to the post, team doctor Patrick Ingelfinger maintained contact with local Gelsenkirchen health authorities to see if the late test might warrant any additional measures.
The long delayed domestic cup fixture generates much interest as it will, after a long legal delay, finally serve as the conclusion of the 2020/21 DFB-Pokal's first round.
Schalke's league winless streak extended to 23 straight fixtures over the weekend, meaning the club remains as desperate as ever for some sort of success.
