DFB sets Pokal dates as Schalke-Schweinfurt-Türkgücü legal fight drags on

Germany's Bavarian Amateur Football Association (BFV) has officially filed an appeal against a regional court's September 30th ruling that invalidated the FA's registration of FC Schweinfurt for a disputed Pokal fixture.

While there may be no news on who Schalke 04 will face in their postponed opening round domestic German cup match, the DFB has set some dates.

Germany's national FA, very much a bystander in the protected legal wrangle between recently promoted third division side Türkgücü München and the Bavarian amateur football association that brokered an uneasy compromise between two amateur clubs last spring, made it own moves late this week.

The DFB set a date for the deferred match. The encounter shall take place on either Tuesday, November 3rd or Wednesday, November 4th at 16:30. Additionally, the association firmly held that the Pokal's 2nd Round draw would be held on its originally scheduled date: October 18th.

For its part, the BFV issued a statement asserting that it would have the issue resolved in time. The most recent judgment does technically give the BFV the authority to nominate whichever club it wishes. The regional FA nevertheless hopes to have its original decision affirmed on appeal.
