After recently nailing down a starting spot, Yannick Gerhardt has decided that he wants to stay at VfL Wolfsburg beyond the summer, according to Bild.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has been stalling on a new deal, but it seems Wolfsburg have now convinced him to remain at Volkswagen Arena.

However, the deal isn't ready to be signed yet, with the contract duration and salary still to be negotiated.

Gerhardt has made 128 appearances for Wolfsburg with nine goals and 14 assists to his name since his move from FC Köln in 2016.
