Christian Gross refuses to give up after another heavy defeat

Schalke 04 coach Christian Gross says he has no intention of resigning despite his side's disastrous run.
Schalke 04's hopes of Bundesliga survival was dealt another blow on Saturday as they fell to 5-1 defeat at the hands of Stuttgart.

Speaking to Sky Germany after the game, Schalke coach Christian Gross commented on reports that several of his players have asked head of sport Jochen Schneider to replace him, insisting that he will not be throwing in the towel.

"I started this mission. There is no giving up for me, never," said Gross.

"If there are conflicts, you have to handle them, of course – but in the right way.

"I've told the players that if they have a problem with me, they have to come to me, and we'll look at it together and address it openly and directly."

Gross and Schalke sit bottom of the Bundesliga table, having taken just nine points from 23 games this season.
