When Pep Guardiola served as Bayern München coach from 2013 to 2016, he made a huge impression on the players at the club, former German international Philipp Lahm says.

Speaking to Marca, Lahm - the captain of Guardiola's Bayern team - makes it clear that he has huge respect for the Catalan coach.

"Pep is an excellent coach. Nobody can analyze opponents and game concepts as well as he does. I don't know what influence he had on German football, but he shaped us all at Bayern," Lahm told Marca and added:

"We were prepared for every situation. He developed the players in their positions and the style of the team."

Guardiola left Bayern to take over his current job at Manchester City in 2016. Lahm announced his retirement in 2017.
