Football pundits such as Lothar Matthäus and Oliver Kahn have called for German national coach Joachim Löw to call-up FC Augsburg's Philipp Max for 'Die Mannschaft'.

Despite his highly impressive performances for Augsburg, Max is still to make his international debut, but the 24-year-old left-back says he's not willing to change to earn himself a spot in the team.

"I'm not the type that pushes into every TV show and tries to promote myself. I will never act offensively and demand anything. I'm not like that, and I will not change that," Max told Bild and added:

"I don't want to convince with words, but with my performances. To be part of the national team remains my big dream. And at some point, I'm sure it will happen.

Another German left-back - Hoffenhem's Nico Schulz - made his international debut last night as Germany defeated Peru 2-1.
