Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 31
Ahead of Matchday 31, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
FC Augsburg v. 1. FC Köln:
M: Daniel Caligiuri, Midfielder (FCA, 12.2M, 5%) - Back from his one game suspension, Caligiuri and Augsburg are in desperate need of a win as they are slipping closer to the bottom of the table. Köln’s upset win over Leipzig should not overly concern Augsburg as Köln have still been one of the worst teams in the league. Caligiuri could easily capitalize on his multiple dead ball chances.
D: Ruben Vargas, Midfielder (FCA, 9.4M, 1%) - Vargas was able to make a big impact off the bench, taking three shots in just 10 minutes of playing time against Frankfurt. He has started the previous three matches and should have a big role this weekend after a string of strong performances.
VfL Wolfsburg v. Borussia Dortmund:
M: Wout Weghorst, Forward (WOB, 21.6M, 10%) - Compared to the ownership of some of the players on Dortmund, Weghorst can be your top player and still be somewhat of a differential pick at only 10%. He has also been amazing all season and has scored in six out of his last seven games.
D: Xaver Schlager, Midfielder (WOB, 12.6M, 1%) - Like Weghorst, Schlager is a massive differential compared to the Dortmund players who are a bit overvalued. Schlager has also played well lately, scoring a goal and an assist in his last two games for 21 combined Fantasy points.
Sport-Club Freiburg v. TSG Hoffenheim:
M: Vincenzo Grifo, Midfielder (SCF, 14.3M, 4%) - After getting a full week break due to the Hertha game postponement, Grifo and Freiburg should be ready to go full strength against Hoffenheim. Grifo, missing the last few weeks because of Covid, will be making his long awaited return after missing the last three games.
D: Robert Skov, Forward (TSG, 9.9M, 0%) - Skov has started the last three games, the first time he has done that all season. Last week against Gladbach, he was unlucky to come away without a goal in their shootout as he did take four shots with one on target.
1. FC Union Berlin v. SV Werder Bremen:
M: Max Kruse, Forward (FCU, 12.2M, 2%) - After coming out of the gate on fire from his injury scoring four goals in four games, Kruse has now gone four games without a goal. Bremen haven't kept a clean sheet in six games so Kruse should feel good about his chances.
D: Niclas Füllkrug, Forward (SVW, 10.2M, 0%) - Füllkrug was back in the starting lineup after missing the last two matches. He was close to grabbing a goal as well with all three of his shots taken making it on goal.
FC Schalke 04 v. Hertha BSC:
Match postponed. Players from each squad will be awarded their own season average as Fantasy points for the match.
1. FSV Mainz 05 v. FC Bayern München:
M: Alphonso Davies, Defender (FCB, 15.4M, 29%) - Davies has been fantastic in his last two games, scoring double digit Fantasy points in both. Although Mainz have won four of their last five games, Bayern should dominate this match and clinch the title.
D: Ádám Szalai, Forward (M05, 3.4M, 0%) - Szalai started his first game since March against Bremen midweek after dealing with a bit of a knee issue the previous weeks. He was able to grab his first goal of the year and will hope to catch the giants sleeping.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. Eintracht Frankfurt :
M: André Silva, Forward (SGE, 21.2M, 14%) - Frankfurt were right back to their free scoring ways against Ausgburg, successfully putting the Gladbach flop behind them. Silva has just been fantastic recently, scoring five times with two assists in his last five games.
D: Karim Bellarabi, Forward (B04, 9M, 1%) - Bellarabi played well in his 45 minutes of gametime against Bayern, taking three shots and sending in four crosses. He has only started one game in 2021 but after a good showing, he should get the start against Frankfurt.
RB Leipzig v. VfB Stuttgart:
M: Marcel Sabitzer, Midfielder (RBL, 16.7M, 9%) - An epic collapse against the Billy Goats, the Red Bulls are now in danger of losing second place, with the fourth place Eagles only four points behind. Sabitzer was rested against Köln and will be expected to turn it around against Stuttgart.
D: Emil Forsberg, Forward (RBL, 11.4M, 2%) - Depending on who starts between Forsberg and Sorloth, they are the best differentials available. Stuttgart has allowed eight goals in their last three games and Leipzig’s backs are against the wall.
Borussia M’gladbach v. DSC Arminia Bielefeld:
M: Marcus Thuram, Forward (BMG, 15.8M, 2%) - Thuram is playing some of his better football at the moment, scoring twice in his last three games on seven shots. Bielefeld are unbeaten in their last four but Gladbach’s firepower as of recent weeks will be too much for them to handle.
D: Valentino Lazaro, Midfielder (BMG, 9M, 1%) - With Lars Stindl still expected to miss time, Lazaro could find himself in the starting lineup for a third consecutive game. Last week he was able to score one goal in Gladbach’s 2-3 loss to Hoffenheim.
