Kicker editor-in-chief Karlheinz Wild reports that the injury that led Leon Goretzka off the pitch on Saturday just ten minutes after he was subbed on is not what one may term a "simple injury". The season is most definitely over. The Euros may come a little soon.

According to Wild's sources in Munich, it could be a "race against time" to see the Joshua Kimmich's preferred midfield partner fit in time for Germany's opening group stage game against France on June 15th.

Goretzka has struggled with two minor injuries this year, causing him to miss three consecutive league fixtures in both December and March.
