Reports: Hertha prepare €20 million mega-deal to offload Cordoba

While reports surfacing earlier on Saturday from Colombian and Italian media sources appeared rather unsubstantiated, Germany's Bild Zeitung now cites its own internal sources to claim that Hertha striker Jhon Cordoba is on the verge of being sold to FK Krasnodar in the Russian Premiership.
Colombian journalist Diego Rueda published a report early Saturday suggesting the Colombian international Jhon Cordoba neared an eastward transfer to FK Krasnodar. The potential veracity of such a move seemed questionable, given the rumors that continue to swirl around Matheus Cunha and the club's recent loan-out of young attacking prospect Jessic Ngankam.

According to Germany's main sporting tabloid, however, the rumors are true. Sport Bild reports that a Cordoba transfer is "in full swing" and that a deal is likely to be concluded son. Hertha appear prepared to part with their joint leading goal-scorer from last season after Russia's FK Krasnodar offered them a lucrative opportunity to turn a handsome profit on their investment from last season.

Hertha paid approximately €15 million to purchase Cordoba last September. The Russian club is reportedly offering some €20 million for the 28-year-old now. New Hertha sporting CEO Fredi Bobic has been known to never pass up an opportunity to sell off high market value strikers. German footballing magazine Kicker also notes on its own website that the reports of an imminent transfer appear legitimate.
