Franck Ribery has confirmed that he is open to a return to Bayern München should his former club need his help.

The 38-year-old winger was a key player for Bayern between 2007 and 2019, making 425 appearances with 124 goals and 182 assists to his name, before moving on to Fiorentina on a free transfer.

Ribery is now a free agent, and former Germany international Lothar Matthäus has taken to Instagram to state that he believes Bayern should think about taking the veteran back on a one-year deal if they 'can't find a winger they want and can sign'.

Commenting on Matthäus' Instagram post, Ribery declared himself open to a return, writing:

    "Thanks, my friend. I'm ready!"

Franck Ribéry's Emotional Farewell At Allianz Arena
Franck Ribéry had to support himself with his hands on his knees when he stood in front of the south stand after his last Bundesliga match. The Frenchman wanted to say a few words to the FC Bayern fans, but he wasn't able to get anything out. Overcome by emotion, tears streaming down his cheeks, the 36-year-old just about managed a shaky "thank you".
