Fantasy Bundesliga:
Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 4

By Christian Andrick

Ahead of Matchday 4, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
Jude Bellingham.
Jude Bellingham.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. Borussia Dortmund:

M: Jude Bellingham, Midfielder (BVB, 11.6M, 26%) - With Gio Reyna expected to miss some time due to an injury sustained with his national team, Bellingham could see an increased role in the midfield. He exploded on matchday three with a goal and an assist and should continue to only get better and better as he continues his rise to stardom.

D: Robert Andrich, Midfielder (B04, 7.9M, 1%) - Andrich will hold down the midfield and get his first start for Leverkusen as both Aranguiz and Baumgartlinger will be missing due to injury. In 29 starts with Union last year, Andrich had five goals and two assists but should have honestly had a lot more than that with his knack for getting into the attack.

1. FC Union Berlin v. FC Augsburg:

M: Niko Giesselman, Defender (FCU, 3.7M, 7%) - Giesselman is the fifth highest scoring defender at the moment with a fee of less than half of his closest competitors. With two goals already on the season, Giesselman and Union continue to prove doubters wrong.

D: Ruben Vargas, Midfielder (FCA, 9M, 1%) - Vargas just keeps on progressing and is becoming a serious threat on the attacking front. Last matchday, he took three shots and was unlucky to not come away with a goal. As he attains more minutes and starts, only good things will come from the Swiss midfielder.

Sport-Club Freiburg v. 1. FC Köln:

M: Florian Kainz, Midfielder (KOE, 7.7M, 12%) - A man on a mission this season, Kainz is easily on of the surprises so far.The third highest scoring Fantasy player in the game at the moment, Kainz has really shown his skills with two goals, one assist, eight chances created and 27 crosses attempted in three games so far.

D: Lucas Holer, Forward (SCF, 6.6M, 0%) - Already a productive start to the season, Holer has grabbed a goal and an assist in Freiburg’s last two games. Both games being wins over Dortmund and Stuttgart have Freiburg feeling fantastic and in a great position to pick up more points.

TSG Hoffenheim v. 1. FSV Mainz 05:

M: Andrej Kramaric, Forward (TSG, 14.6M, 5%) - Kramaric has not scored a goal yet this season but has been superb otherwise with four assists and is still the fourth highest scoring forward in the Fantasy game. It is just a matter of time before Kramaric starts scoring and it will surely come in bunches. He had six goals by matchday four last season.

D: Adam Szalai, Forward (M05, 5.3M, 1%) - A goal during matchday three and fresh off a goal for Hungary in the Euros, Szalai’s confidence is at an all-time high at the moment.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth v. VfL Wolfsburg:

M: Kevin Mbabu, Defender (WOB, 10.8M, 25%) - An almost guaranteed clean sheet bonus, Mbabu and Wolfsburg’s defense should have no problems with Furth. Wolfsburg also have a decent enough fixture list going forward that it wouldn’t hurt to get him in your squad for the long haul.

D: Maximilian Philipp, Forward (WOB, 8.1M, 1%) - The least owned starter for Wolfsburg, Philipp will have his best chance of scoring this Saturday. It’s hard to see Furth pulling off any kind of upset.

RB Leipzig v. FC Bayern München:

M: Serge Gnabry, Forward (FCB, 14.4M, 5%) - Gnabry missed out in the five goal thriller during matchday three but has still shown flashes this year that it will be a positive season. This match has always been a struggle of might so some flashy wing play may be the difference in this matchup.

D: Amadou Haidara, Midfielder (RBl, 10M, 1%) - The only true differential starter between both squads, but hardly a recommendation to go with.

Eintracht Frankfurt v. VfB Stuttgart:

M: Wataru Endo, Midfielder (VFB, 8.8M, 14%) - Oliver Glasner’s Frankfurt side has hardly been a threat at all compared to previous seasons, leaving plenty of hope for Stuttgart to make amends for the poor showings they have shown in recent weeks. Endo has been a bright spot of the season, notching a goal and an assist in the first three matchdays.

D: Christopher Lenz, Defender (SGE, 9.3M, 0%) - Scoring 7 and 10 Fantasy points starting the last two games, Lenz is settling in at Frankfurt after making the move from Union. Ten points alone in Won Duels in the last two games is promising as his attacking prowess has yet to make an entrance.

VfL Bochum 1848 v. Hertha BSC:

M: Simon Zoller, Forward (BOC, 7.4M, 0%) - Zoller has quietly had a strong start to the season, starting all three matches with a goal and two assists to show. Hertha have been downright horrible so Bochum has a decent shot of taking all three points and Zoller will definitely have a say in the outcome.

D: Marco Richter, Forward (BSC, 7M, 0%) - Richter joined Hertha on Monday and will be instantly thrust into the starting lineup as Hertha’s attacking depth is depleted. It can't really get any worse for Hertha so Richter has a great opportunity to make a huge first impression on his new teammates.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v. DSC Arminia Bielefeld

M: Joe Scally, Defender (BMG, 2.2M, 9%) - Scally continues to start and play well and at a cost of only 2.2M, you must have him in your squad.

D: Fabian Klos, Forward (DSC, 7.7M, 1%) - A goal and an assist to start the season is music to the ears for Bielefeld fans as they look to avoid the drop again this year. If Klos can continue to be a playmaker as he has shown so far, they will have a solid chance of surviving.
