Pavlovic reflects on competition from Palhinha

Aleksandar Pavlovic has revealed how he feels about competing with Joao Palhinha for a place in midfield.

After breaking into the Bayern Munich first team last season, Aleksandar Pavlovic has started every competitive game under new coach Vincent Kompany.

Joao Palhinha has arrived from Fulham to provide fresh competition for the 20-year-old in the middle of the park, but that doesn't worry him.

"No, I'm not thinking about that. Maybe we'll play together in the middle, that's a possibility too," Pavlovic told ran.

“I know what I can do and how hard I work on myself every day. Competition at the highest level is part and parcel of a club like FC Bayern, everyone in the squad knows that.”

As for how he can become an even better player, Pavlovic said:

“I definitely want to improve physically. I've been working on that for a while. Just like my defensive game. But I've made some steps in the right direction in the last few months.”

Pavlovic could make his second appearance for Germany when they face Hungary in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night.
