After last week's 1-0 win over Union Berlin, Borussia Mönchengladbach were back on the losing side on Friday as they went down 2-1 to Augsburg.

Responding to the defeat - Gladbach's third in the last four games - manging director for sport Roland Virkus didn't hold back.

"I am really extremely disappointed with this performance. This was by far our worst game and I can't really explain it," Virkus said in a post-match interview.

He went on to indirectly criticize head coach Gerardo Seoane for the team's style of play.

“We have a lot of possession and do absolutely nothing with it, completely harmless, timid, no occupation of the No. 10 area, no depth, we leave Tim Kleindienst completely alone up front. You can't play like that!”

Seoane was self-critical in an interview with Bild, admitting that his boss had made a good point.

“It's true, we need to think about our phases of possession. We definitely need to play more offensively, we lack courage, we don't get into the final third. We're not a threat to the opposition.”
