Augsburg complete Giannoulis signing, Plettenberg reports

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Greek left-back Dimitris Giannoulis has completed his transfer to FC Augsburg.

After a last-minute attempt to poach the 28-year-old by another Greek club fell through, Norwich City left-back Dimitris Giannoulis is expected to complete his transfer to Bundesliga side FC Augsburg today. The 27-times-capped Greek international is available on a free transfer after his contract with the Canaries expired. Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Giannoulis has completed his medical and is set to join FCA training camp in South Africa.

The Fuggerstädter are in the market for a new left-back following the departure of Brazilian professional Iago, who himself departed on an expiring contract. Danish fullback Mads Pedersen may be needed on the right-hand-side after Swiss international Kevin Mbabu returned to his parent club of Fulham FC. The Bavarian Swabians appear uninterested in giving Croatian David Colina another shot. The 24-year-old looks set to remain in Denmark on loan.
