Bayern boss comments on Musiala's future

Max Eberl has insisted that Bayern Munich want to keep Jamal Musiala for many years.

Bayern Munich want to keep Jamal Musiala for the long term - and the arrival of Vincent Kompany as their new head coach hasn't changed that.

"Like all of us at Bayern, Vincent's goal is to work with Jamal for as long as possible and have a successful time with him. We don't care about anything else," said Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl in an interview with Bild.

"The goal of FC Bayern is to have a very good team and for that we need very good individual players. Jamal is an outstanding player and he also comes from our campus. That's why he's already a face of FC Bayern. We are happy to have him with us," he added.

Under contract until 2026, Musiala has plenty of suitors. According to Bild, his representatives have put talks with Bayern over a new contract on hold until after Euro 2024, knowing that their client's value is likely to increase during the tournament.

The report claims that Musiala is demanding not only a substantial pay rise, but also a clear sporting perspective and the prospect of a Champions League title.
