Jamal Musiala's outstanding performance in Germany's 5-0 win over Hungary has sparked debate over his absence from the Ballon d'Or shortlist, as well as speculation over his future at Bayern Munich.
Unsurprisingly, FC Bayern CEO Herbert Hainer is keen to keep the 21-year-old, who is under contract until 2026, for the long term.
"In my opinion, he could become the second Thomas Müller and play here for the next 20 years. I'm very hopeful and optimistic that we'll see him at Bayern for a long time," Hainer told Sky Germany.
"I really appreciate Jamal when you see how much he has developed over the last few years," Hainer continued, adding that "many say he will be the best player in the world one day.
“I think he really appreciates what he has at FC Bayern Munich. He expresses that time and time again. And of course we know what we have in him. So we want to do everything we can to keep him at Bayern for the long term.”
