Bayern emerge as frontrunners for Schalke wonderkid, report claims

Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich currently hold the strongest cards in the battle to sign Schalke 04's Assan Ouédraogo.

At the age of 18, Assan Ouédraogo has established himself as a key player in the Schalke 04 midfield.

Europe's biggest clubs are said to be lining up to sign him, with Bayern Munich, Napoli, Liverpool, AC Milan and RB Leipzig among his many admirers.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern have the best chance of landing the youngster, with talks expected to take place once the Bavarians have appointed their new coach.

Ouédraogo is reportedly keen to spend next season at Schalke in order to continue his development. Bayern would be willing to allow him to do so by signing him this summer and sending him on loan to Schalke for the 2024/25 season, according to the report.

The versatile young midfielder has a release clause in his contract, which can be activated until 15 June.
