Frimpong now likely to stay at Leverkusen

There has been much speculation surrounding the future of Jeremie Frimpong, but it looks increasingly likely that the Dutchman will remain at Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen are "increasingly confident" that Jeremie Frimpong will remain at the club beyond the summer.

Earlier in the summer, it was reported that Frimpong was pushing for a move away from the German champions.

However, there hasn't been much activity regarding the player's future since then, with Sky reporting that there have been no negotiations with other clubs, despite the 23-year-old having plenty of suitors.

It remains to be seen what will happen between now and deadline day at the end of August, but at the moment, a stay in Leverkusen seems the most likely outcome for the right wing-back.

Frimpong scored 14 goals and laid on 12 assists in 47 appearances for Leverkusen last season.
