Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens is reportedly close to a move to Chelsea.

According to RMC Sport, the Blues have reached a long-term agreement with the 20-year-old, with a contract set to run until 2032. Talks between the two clubs are now underway.

As reported by Bild, Dortmund have turned down an initial offer of €42 million from the London side, with the Black and Yellows holding out for a fee of up to €70 million.

Chelsea are under time pressure, as they aim to register Gittens for the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15, and Dortmund are said to be looking to use this urgency to their advantage. Whether a deal can be completed in time remains uncertain.

Gittens previously spent time in Chelsea’s youth setup before spells at Reading and Manchester City, eventually joining Dortmund in 2020.
