Gündogan: "We have to overcome some difficulties"

Ilkay Gündogan was pleased with Germany's win over Hungary, but also insisted there's still room for improvement.

Germany made it two wins out of two at Euro 2024 with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Hungary on Wednesday.

UEFA's Player of the Match, Ilkay Gündogan, was happy with the win, but also stressed that there's still room for improvement for the German team.

"It's getting better and better, but we still have some difficulties to overcome, and today's game showed that. But that's the way the tournament is, you have to be cold when you get the chance," Gündogan said in a post-match interview.

The Barcelona midfielder was involved in both of Germany's goals, setting up the opener and scoring the second.

“I always wanted to be patient and do my job - and I'm feeling better and better in this more attacking position. Hopefully it will continue,” Gündogan said.

Germany face Switzerland in their last group stage game on Sunday.
