For the first time since 2018, Hamburg and Bremen are locking horns in the Bundesliga. Both teams are in the lower half of the standings, but it is always a big occasion when the northern rivals meet under any circumstances.

Alexander Røssing-Lelesiit is suspended after his red card in last week’s victory over VfB Stuttgart. Robert Glatzel scored the opener in the 2-1 win, but he was forced to an early substitution due to a torn muscle fiber. At the very least, the striker will miss the last three games of 2025. Aboubaka Soumahoro and Bakary Jatta start for the first time this season.

Niklas Stark was sent off in the 96th minute of Werder Bremen’s home draw with Köln, which resulted in his suspension for today’s game. Horst Steffen makes no change from last week's draw.
