Loris Karius is already attracting attention from other clubs, Sky Sports Germany reports.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper who joined Schalke as a free agent in January has since impressed in his two appearances for the club to date.

Karius was controversially chosen as the new first-choice goalkeeper over Justin Heekeren by head coach Kees van Wonderen a fortnight ago.

According to his current situation however, Karius’ contract officially ends on June 30.

The German could join another club however he is reportedly open to staying at Die Knappen for longer.

But with eleventh-placed Schalke only marginally clear of the relegation zone, it is a position considered to be below Karius’ ambitions.

Furthermore, questions over whether the Royal Blues could afford his salary is another matter as other teams keep tabs on the goalkeeper.
