Kicker Report: Bayern set to give Irankunda full audition

Kicker Magazine's FC Bayern München correspondent Frank Linkesch reports that the German record champions are planning to give Australian phenom Nestory Irankunda a full audition at the start of this summer's training camp.

The fact that many players will either still be participating in the 2024 European Championships or be out on post-competition holidays when FC Bayern München's training camp begins on July 1st translates to a golden opportunity for 18-year-old Australian phenom Nestory Irnakunda. Bayern correspondent Frank Linkesch of Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that Bayern plan to give the teenage talent a full audition in front of newly appointed trainer Vicent Kompany. Irankunda will receive an opportunity to showcase his skills.

Bayern secured the services of the Adelaide United attacker this past November. A successful finish to the A-League season - not to mention his first call-up to the senior Aussie men's side - leaves Irankunda in an excellent position to at least skip over a stint with the Bayern reserves and earn a loan-out to another German club. Linkesch reports that the youngster - who can play on both attacking flanks - is set to receive a long look. Linkesch correctly points out that Alphonso Davies once fast-tracked himself to the first team via a similar avenue.
