Manuel Neuer was working on his comeback from a calf injury when he suffered a setback during the international break.

According to reports, the veteran goalkeeper is expected to miss not only the upcoming Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and Augsburg, but also Bayern's Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Inter (on April 8).

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany was asked about Neuer's injury at a press conference on Friday and confirmed that the veteran needs time to recover.

“Manu has a calf injury. I know what it's like. It's always very sensitive. That doesn't mean it's bad but that you need time. I don't want to state a time. Hopefully it's quick,” he said.

Bayern will also have to be patient with Aleksandar Pavlovic, who has missed their last five games with glandular fever.

“I can't say much more. He needs time. We always find out when players have problems, what that means medically.

"We don't put any pressure on him and take things one week at a time. When the doctors say that he's fully fit, we'll work out a plan,” said Kompany.
