With the likes of Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner out of the running, Bayern Munich appear to have identified a new top candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel as head coach.

According to several reports, the Bavarians are considering Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, with the former Manchester City defender said to be on a short list of candidates.

Sky Germany reports that Bayern have already been in contact with Kompany, who is highly regarded in the industry despite being relegated from the Premier League in the 2023/24 season with Burnley.

In any case, Bayern now seem to be focusing on the Premier League, with Bild suggesting Brentford manager Thomas Frank as an alternative to Kompany.

Hansi Flick, Erik ten Hag, Zinedine Zidane and José Mourinho are reportedly out of the picture.
