Piero Hincapié is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.
The centre-back has been strongly linked with Arsenal, and on Monday, Leverkusen’s managing director for sport, Simon Rolfes, confirmed (via Bild) that the player is in England to complete the move.
“Piero is currently undergoing his medical in London,” Rolfes told reporters, adding:
“Therefore, the transfer is expected to go through.”
If all goes to plan, the Ecuadorian defender will join the Gunners on loan with an obligation to buy of around €60 million.
