Report: Leverkusen still determined to keep Wirtz

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly still adamant that Florian Wirtz is not going anywhere this summer.

At the age of 21, Florian Wirtz is probably one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football, with virtually all of Europe's top clubs keeping an eye on the Bayer Leverkusen jewel.

However, as they've stressed on a number of occasions, the Werkself are not interested in letting Wirtz go this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, when Xabi Alonso pledged to stay on as coach for another year, he was given a guarantee that Wirtz would also stay on beyond the summer.

A move in 2025 seems more likely, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and a number of top English clubs all linked with his signature.

With the youngster's contract running until 2027, Leverkusen will be in a good position to negotiate a fee well in excess of 100 million.
