Maier signs new contract with Augsburg

Augsburg have signed Arne Maier to a new contract.

Arne Maier has signed a new contract with FC Augsburg, the Bundesliga side announced on Tuesday.

The central midfielder's deal, which was set to expire in 2025, has been extended by one year until 2026.

“Our discussions were always really positive, so extending my contract at FC Augsburg was an easy decision for me in the end. The club and I have a clear plan, and I want to take on more responsibility in the future, as well as lead from the front with my performances. Our journey together is not over yet and I’m looking forward to all that’s yet to come,” said Arne Maier.

Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic added:

“Arne has been an important performer in our team for three years now. He showed how valuable his qualities are to FCA particularly in the last three months. We’re therefore really pleased that we’ll continue to work together towards achieving our joint goals."
