Leipzig officially unveil Baku: "Excellent conditions for successful football."

After passing his early Friday medical, Ridle Baku was officially unveiled by his new club RB Leipzig early Friday afternoon. The 26-year-old re-unites with former VfL Wolfsburg chief personnel executive Marcel Schäfer, signing new RB deal valid through 2027.
In public statements accompanying the signing, Baku emphasized his desire to switch clubs in order to further his career and potentially return to the German national team. The Mainz-native was given a full roll-out, replete with promises that he would be in the Sunday squad to face Werder Bremen.
"I'm happy to join a club with huge potential and ambitious goals," Baku noted in his statement. "The overall conditions in Leipzig are excellent for playing successful football."
"When the opportunity to make the switch arose, I definitely wanted to take advantage of it," Baku's statement continued. "I'm really looking forward to getting to know my new teammates."
