Mazraoui opens up on decision to leave Bayern

Noussair Mazraoui has revealed why he opted to leave Bayern Munich for Manchester United during the summer.

After two years at Bayern Munich, Noussair Mazraoui decided to leave the club in the summer to join Manchester United alongside Matthijs de Ligt.

In an interview with The Athletic, the now-former Bayern right-back explains why he wanted to move on.

“Two seasons playing at Bayern, I needed another step, based on a lot of reasons,” Mazraoui said.

"I felt OK there, but I had a feeling I could feel more comfortable somewhere else.

“Manchester United came in. I don't think I have to explain why I go to such a club.”

Mazraoui has featured six times for Manchester United so far, racking up an assist.

He made a total of 55 appearances for Bayern with one goal and eight assists to his name.
