Musiala discusses possibility of long-term stay at Bayern

Jamal Musiala has spoken about the possibility of extending his contract with Bayern Munich beyond 2026.

Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala has revealed what's needed to convince him to commit his long-term future to the club beyond 2026.

In an interview with Sport Bild, the 21-year-old highlights the importance of Vincent Kompany's appointment as head coach and says he is looking forward to playing under the former Manchester City man.

"The coaching decision was important for me. I want us to play good, attractive football and compete for the league title and the Champions League with a good team. I want to play in an environment where there's a good feeling and the boys are happy on the pitch. Then I can show my qualities," said Musiala.

"I am looking forward to working with Vincent Kompany in the new season. I've heard a lot about him from Leroy, they played together at City. Another friend of mine played under Kompany at Burnley. He told me that Burnley played really good football.

"It's true that Burnley were relegated, but Kompany didn't want to get points with destructive or defensive football, he stuck to his philosophy. That's rare in a coach. I think his ideas fit well with Bayern. He's hungry to win titles," said Musiala.

The Germany international has scored 43 goals and provided 31 assists in 163 appearances for Bayern.
