Neuer reflects on criticism of his performances

Manuel Neuer has spoken out about the criticism he has received recently.

Bayern Munich and Germany veteran Manuel Neuer came under heavy fire in the build-up to Euro 2024 after he made a big mistake in the final warm-up friendly against Greece, with some calling for Marc-André ter Stegen to start ahead of him.

But as the 38-year-old goalkeeper insisted at a press conference on Monday, the criticism is not affecting him.

"I looked at it from the outside and didn't read anything. That's the way I've always done it: I go into the analysis with the people in charge. We discuss everything, look at the pictures and judge everything based on the pictures," Neuer said.

“That's why I didn't think much about the debate. The relationship of trust between the coaches, the players and myself is important. And there is a lot of trust.”

Asked if this will be his last tournament with the German national team, Neuer replied:

"I can't reveal that yet, but I'll have my thoughts after the tournament."
