Neuer set for international retirement after Euros?

Bild reports that Manuel Neuer is likely to retire from international football after Euro 2024.

Since 2009, Manuel Neuer has played for the German national team, making a total of 118 appearances.

But according to Bild, the 38-year-old's international career could soon be coming to an end.

Citing sources close to Bayern Munich and the German national team, the German tabloid reports that the veteran is expected to retire from international football after Euro 2024.

This would mean that Marc-André ter Stegen, 32, would finally get the chance he's been waiting for as Germany's first-choice goalkeeper.

Ter Stegen stepped in while Neuer was sidelined with a long-term injury, but, much to his disappointment, lost his place to the 38-year-old ahead of Euro 2024.

"It is not easy to find yourself in a situation that you had hoped would be different. You have to accept and respect the coach's decision, even if I don't agree with it. I try to be at the best level to show my performance," ter Stegen recently told Bild.
