Matthäus: 'I can't remember the last time I saw Bayern play so badly'

Lothar Matthäus criticises Bayern München's performance in the 0-3 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach and says he hasn't seen the Bavarians play so badly in a long time.
Following Bayern München's 0-3 defeat at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach, former German international Lothar Matthäus said he can't remember ever seeing a worse performance from the German champions.

"I can't remember the last time I saw Bayern play so badly, not even in my time. There was no enthusiasm, no body language," Matthäus said according to Sport1 and added:

"The leading players looked listless. Robert Lewandowski barely touched the ball. He was close to the goal once or twice, but that's not enough for a player with his quality and mentality."

"James has high demands, and Niko Kovac may have had his reasons for rarely putting him in his line-up in the last few weeks. If he plays like he did today, he can't demand to be in the starting eleven."

Bayern München are now winless in four games.
