Borussia Dortmund have given an injury update on Mahmoud Dahoud after the midfielder was forced off in the first half of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League.

In a statement on Wednesday, 'Die Schwarzgelben' have announced that Dahoud strained a ligament in his left knee.

The club didn't put a time frame on the 25-year-old's recovery, but Kicker reports that he's not expected to be out for long.

Even if he had been fit, Dahoud wouldn't have been able to feature in the Bundesliga against Augsburg on Saturday due to suspension.
