Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram has provided an update on the knee injury that has kept him out since August.

The 24-year-old Frenchman isn't quite ready to make his return yet, but is making good progress in his recovery.

"My knee's great, thanks to the work of the medical team, and now I'm focusing on getting my fitness back. I can almost put this injury behind me, and I cannot wait to get back into training with the whole squad again," said Thuram in an interview posted on Gladbach's official website.

"I hope that I'll soon be able to get involved with some parts of team training, possibly in a week or so."

Thuram has made a total of 81 appearances for Gladbach, racking up 25 goals and 21 assists.
